The 12th Annual WRC Tree Planting is the largest volunteer event for the Wolf River Conservancy. At our tent children learn about some of the ways plants are used in Indian culture i.e. Rangoli and learning about spices. The Indian community came out in large numbers to support the Neighborhood Christian Center’s Spring Jam Event. This year the focus was on ‘visiting India’. The Wolf River Conservancy celebrated their annual plant-a-tree day today (postponed from last week due to inclement weather). Despite the cold weather and icy wind about 300 volunteers from various organizations showed up to plant 500 Rosebud trees and a few hundred butterfly attracting flowering plants.
